A Day in the Life

You start the morning at home, review the digital dispatch on your tablet, and head straight to a hospital in your take-home service vehicle. The call is a rooftop unit with inconsistent discharge air temperature. You pull the sequence of operations, trace the issue through the VFD, and bring the system back online. Then it’s off to a government facility to complete preventive maintenance on chilled-water pumps and cooling towers. Most days you operate independently, partnering with facility teams and keeping critical environments comfortable and stable—without residential calls or sales quotas.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in occupied facilities with professionalism and care.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and equipment/control sequences to resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Service AHUs, RTUs, chilled-water systems, pumps, cooling towers, VAV boxes, and VFDs.
  • Resolve airflow, temperature, humidity, exhaust, ventilation, and pressure-control issues.
  • Document work clearly; communicate status and needs to customers and leadership.
