The Lead Clinical Therapist provides clinical leadership, oversight, and direct patient care within the  LTC/SNF Therapy behavioral health program. This role supports a team of therapists by ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting efficient clinical operations. The Lead Therapist serves as a key resource for clinical guidance, workflow coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Nevada Medicaid / Provider Type 14 Requirements

The Lead Therapist provides clinical oversight in accordance with Nevada Medicaid Provider Type 14 requirements, Medicaid Services Manual (MSM) Chapter 400, applicable Nevada regulations, and BHS standards.

Qualifications

• Must meet Nevada Medicaid Chapter 400 qualifications to serve as a Clinical Supervisor and hold an active, unrestricted Nevada license/credential appropriate to the services supervised.
• Knowledge of clinical supervision, medical necessity, assessments, treatment planning, documentation, and scope-of-practice requirements.
• Experience with Nevada Medicaid Provider Type 14 agencies and Chapter 400 requirements strongly preferred.

• Experience supervising behavioral health professionals and paraprofessionals, including QMHPs, QMHAs, and Peer Support Specialists, preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision and consultation in accordance with Chapter 400 and applicable Nevada requirements.
• Ensure services are medically necessary, clinically appropriate, and provided within staff scope of practice.
• Review clinical documentation and treatment plans for quality, compliance, and clinical appropriateness.
• Maintain required supervision documentation and ensure staff meet applicable supervision requirements.
• Monitor clinical quality and compliance and provide training, feedback, or corrective guidance as needed.
• Stay current on Nevada Medicaid and Chapter 400 requirements and support implementation of regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership, operations, compliance, and credentialing to maintain Provider Type 14 compliance.
  

Skills:

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems ex: Athena
• Familiarity with Medicaid and prior authorization processes
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
