Description

The Lead Case Manager s erves as lead resource for Workforce Case Managers. Provides guidance on case management practices, participant case note documentation, job readiness assessments, departmental operational processes, coverage questions, and routine problem solving.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

Implements strategies to achieve the goals for the organization and employment support and training for Goodwill Workforce Development program participants and trainees. Sustains policies, procedures and programs. Typically works on projects and tasks that span 3 - 12 months.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Serves as lead resource for Workforce Case Managers. Provides guidance on case management practices, participant case note documentation, job readiness assessments, departmental operational processes, coverage questions, and routine problem solving.

2. Supports the Manager Workforce Development with daily workflow and program coordination as assigned while providing direct case management support for an assigned pool list.

3. Responsible for organizing and leading the GWGL Youth Program, including communicating with parents and local schools, attending interviews, assisting with documentation, coordinating schedules, and coordination with internal operational leaders.

4. Coordinates and supports transition between departments and training of new employees, career exploration, social and emotional skill awareness, professional appearance, appropriate workplace behavior. Leads the effort to implement and provide Disability Awareness training for leaders at GWGL and supports Manager Workforce Development with other team and employee training initiatives

5. Participates in corrective action meetings with galley management and utilizes advanced knowledge to address confidential matters daily.

6. Collaborates with multiple departments, teams and committees at GWGL to ensure case management and training support with daily activities and special projects.

7. Leading and Developing Talent: May partner with coworkers to advance their development.

8. Project and Change Management: May serve as a team member, or subject matter expert, for formal or department projects. Contributes ideas and helps develop solutions, while balancing demands of project work and routine job responsibilities. Engages effectively in change affecting her/him, communicating appropriately with supervisor. Follows through on learning, skill building, and practice necessary to adapt to change.

9. Problem Solving: Light supervision; works independently. Periodic review of work by manager or direct customer. Researches, analyzes, and evaluates situations and reports on findings. Solves advanced problems.

10. Technical Skill: Advanced knowledge of professional principles and skills. Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.

11. Community Engagement: Champions Goodwill's community engagement initiatives. Aware of Goodwill's community partner organizational and participates in volunteer opportunities as pertains to role and interest. Participates in industry/knowledge groups.

12. Responsible for completing other job responsibilities/duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Two years of college education or experience equivalency, and a minimum of 3 years' experience.

2. Educational background in vocational rehabilitation (social work, counseling, psychology, special education or similar course of study) to support individual eligibility evaluations and to develop appropriate individual development plans.

3. Prior experience working with persons with disabilities and disadvantages preferred.

4. Prior experience in job training methods, techniques, and principles preferred.

5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Word) and ability to learn and effectively use various Workforce Development Information systems.

6. Must have a valid driver's license.

7. Bilingual, Spanish or American Sign Language preferred.

8. Must work at least one weekend day and rotate with on-call duties as needed

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 20 pounds. Moves about to accomplish tasks. Worker is subject to weather conditions (hot, humid, dry, cold etc.). Worker is subject to human blood, body fluids or tissue. Repetitive use of hands and feet as needed for job employment support activities. Vision Required while using computer keyboard and working with written and electronic information, local travel required.

When determining placement within the salary range for this position Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands and other qualifying criteria. It is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the rage for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on facts and circumstances of each case.
