SUMMARY: This position is assigned to the Base Civil Engineering (BCE) Shop, 124th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) of the Idaho Air National Guard (IDANG), functioning within the Idaho Military Division (IMD). The primary purpose of this position is to perform and supervise subordinate employees in the performance of carpentry and general facility maintenance work to complete minor repairs, minor construction projects, and maintain IMD facilities within the scope of CES operations.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS (attach as a supporting document in Luma):
(1) Must be a member of the Idaho National Guard. Provide your military grade, job title, MOS/AFSC/AOC and unit of assignment.
(2) Must have and maintain a valid and fully privileged state issued driver's license (from any state). Provide your driver's license number, issuing state, license expiration date, and the full name specified on the license. (Do not provide a copy of your driver's license.)
(3) Must have, or be eligible to obtain, and maintain a favorable NACI/T1 Federal Background Investigation. If an applicant does not have a current favorable NACI/T1, as a condition of employment he/she must submit to the investigation process immediately upon hire/appointment. (At a minimum, a favorable suitability determination by the State Security Manager or OPM is required prior to appointment into this position.)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (attach as a supporting document in Luma):
Must have 34-months of experience performing work related to the knowledge requirements below. Submit a paragraph for each knowledge requirement below that demonstrates the required experience and describes competence in applying the knowledge. Education and training may be used to offset experience.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
(1) Describe your knowledge of general construction methods including framing, finish carpentry, painting, concrete installation, insulation installation, drywall, interior and exterior finishes, and floor coverings sufficient to perform and lead work on minor new and remodel construction projects and facility maintenance projects.
(2) Describe your knowledge of blueprints, plans, building codes, and safety requirements, sufficient to independently review and determine project requirements and determine the quality and adequacy of finished projects.
(3) Describe your knowledge of digital, mechanical, and manual door locks sufficient to program digital entry controls, re-key or re-core manual locks, and perform control functions to manage facility access.
(4) Describe your knowledge of construction project management principles sufficient for accurate labor estimation, materials estimation, vendor or contractor identification and selection, equipment allocation, resource acquisition, developing workplans, providing instructions, preparing progress reports, and final inspection of multiple, simultaneous projects that vary in scope and expense.
(5) Describe your knowledge of and skill in carrying out basic supervisory duties which include but are not limited to counseling, training, coaching, developing and enforcing performance standards, assigning work, managing workflow, reviewing work, resolving employee disputes, managing schedules, maintaining culture and environment, and receiving general guidance on projects and delegating supporting tasks to team members.
