Job Summary:
The Lead Branch Sales Associate helps oversee the day-to-day operations within a physical branch. This role requires mentorship of Branch Sales Associates and Branch Warehouse Associates, as well as regular communication with customers. Lead Branch Sales Associates may also be responsible for procuring and managing inventory, participating in the interviewing process and onboarding new staff, and opening and closing the branch location. This position is eligible for monthly performance-based bonuses and incentives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interact daily with internal and outside salespeople, vendors, manufacturers' representatives, and contractors to support smooth order flow, accurate product information, and strong service for both dealers and end users.
- Provide mentorship to other Branch Sales Associates and Branch Warehouse Associates to ensure adherence to company policies.
- Prepare and complete weekly cycle counts accurately, investigate discrepancies, and ensure results are documented and communicated so inventory records remain reliable.
- Provide strong customer service, including expert advice, technical assistance, answering questions via phone, email, and instant messaging.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in accordance with company policies and training requirements.
- Maintain showroom merchandising and re-stocking, assist warehouse personnel when needed, and help resolve customer relation concerns with dealers and end users as issues arise.
- Assist with store sales and margin goals and provide insight on how to meet those goals; work with the Branch Sales Manager on sales and margin components that impact the P&L.
- Manage freight claims for missing or damaged equipment/supplies by verifying details, completing required paperwork, submitting claims properly, and tracking status through resolution.
- May require occasional travel to various locations for training sessions, professional development opportunities, meetings, or other work-related activities.

Qualifications:
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced retail store environment.
- At least 3-5 years of HVAC or similar industry knowledge/experience preferred.
- Heightened focus on providing excellent customer service.
- Must be sales-driven with the ability to lead and motivate sales and operational staff.
- May need to operate a Forklift. Prior Forklift certification preferred.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate's Degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of proven and successful experience as a sales associate.
- Excellent relationship-building skills; must be a team builder as well as a team player with a focus on sales.
- Computer skills are essential; proficiency with Microsoft applications.
