Lead Attorney - Personal Injury

Santa Fe Springs, CA (Near Downey / Long Beach)
In-Office / Hybrid

An established and growing personal injury practice is urgently seeking a Lead Attorney to take ownership of and build out its litigation department. This is a key leadership hire due to an upcoming departure, and the firm is moving quickly and considering multiple candidate pipelines.

This role is ideal for a hands-on, aggressive attorney who thrives in a collaborative, in-office environment and is excited about building and leading a department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Lead / Managing Attorney for the litigation function
  • Handle and oversee personal injury matters from pre-litigation through resolution
  • Take an active role in case strategy, negotiations, and settlements
  • Drive cases toward maximum value with an assertive, client-first approach
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction as the litigation team grows
  • Help build and scale the litigation department long-term
  • Represent clients in court; trial work is highly valued

Qualifications

  • Strong personal injury experience required
  • Trial experience is a major plus
  • Experience in additional practice areas is a bonus
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently and lead legal initiatives
  • Confident, driven, and comfortable pushing for top-dollar outcomes
  • Professional, personable, and aligned with a strong corporate culture

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $200,000 - $300,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Bonus: 5% on closed cases
  • Health Insurance: 100% employer-paid through Cal-Choice (access to multiple plan options)
  • 401(k): Available (no current match)
