    Overview

    The 56th Medical Group (56th MDG) at Luke Air Force Base provides comprehensive outpatient medical and behavioral health services in support of active-duty service members, military retirees, and their families.

    We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW) to deliver outpatient behavioral health services in a military treatment facility. This role focuses on adult mental health care in a structured clinical setting with an emphasis on trauma-focused and solution-focused treatment.

    Schedule & Work Hours

    • Full-Time | On-Site

    • 40 hours per week

    • Schedule Options:

      • Five (5) 8-hour shifts or

      • Four (4) 10-hour shifts

    • No weekends

    • No on-call requirement

    Ideal Candidate

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

    • Strong clinical orientation with trauma-focused training

    • Experience in solution-focused therapy, typically delivered in 8–15 session treatment models

    • Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 5 patients per day

    • Comfort working independently in an outpatient military clinical environment

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans

    • Provide counseling and psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, couples, and families

    • Utilize DSM-5 diagnostic criteria in the assessment and treatment of adult mental health conditions

    • Deliver evidence-based behavioral health interventions for psychiatric, medical, and psychosocial concerns

    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams to support continuity of care and treatment compliance

    • Provide consultation to medical and behavioral health staff regarding psychosocial needs and treatment planning

    • Maintain accurate clinical documentation using approved electronic medical record systems

    • Practice in accordance with professional standards, ethics, and scope of licensure

    • Use computer applications for documentation, data management, and clinical tracking

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school of social work

    Licensure

    • Current, unrestricted, independent LCSW or LISW license

    • License may be held in any U.S. state

    Experience

    • Minimum three (3) years within the past five (5) years practicing clinical social work in a mental health setting

    • Experience working with an adult population

    • Demonstrated use of DSM-5 for diagnosis

    Required Knowledge & Skills

    • Knowledge of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures

    • Understanding of acute, chronic, and traumatic illnesses or injuries

    • Familiarity with common psychotropic medications and their effects or side effects

    • Ability to implement evidence-based treatment modalities with individuals, families, and groups

    • Ability to independently assess psychosocial functioning and needs

    • Strong understanding of professional standards and clinical ethics

    • Ability to work with diverse populations across socioeconomic, cultural, and educational backgrounds
