Law Enforcement Records Specialists work in one of three areas: Court Support Team, Inmate Records Team, or Inmate Processing Team.
All three of these positions require skills in customer service, typing, and data entry. No degree or experience required. You will attend a 5-week training academy. Work is performed under well-established guidelines set forth by State and Federal law. The scope of work requires a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, organization, and attention to detail. These positions interact extensively with law enforcement officers, the courts, attorneys, and jail management staff. These positions are in the Ada County Sheriff's Office, Administrative Services Bureau.
New Law Enforcement Records Specialists will start out at a Level I pay rate of $19.50/hr. As they acquire the required skills, they have the opportunity to promote to a Level II pay of $21.50/hr. (usually occurs within the first year) and then to a Level III pay of $23.50/hr.
SHIFT INFORMATION
Law Enforcement Records Specialists work 40 hours a week. Shifts vary and are based upon which of the three areas a technician is assigned to. Must be able to work all shifts, including nights, days, weekends, and holidays but will be assigned to a shift for a period of time. Must be able to work up to 11.5 hours a day.
