    Laser & Controls Specialist | Chicago, IL

    An established industry leader in the Chicago area is expanding its technical operations and seeking a skilled Laser & Controls Specialist to join a high-performing engineering team.     In this role, you will serve as a core technical expert maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing advanced laser processing equipment and electrical control systems. You will work in a modern, well-supported environment locally while occasionally bringing your expertise to key regional sites.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial laser processing equipment and systems.

    • Inspect, diagnose, and maintain electrical control boards, wiring schematics, and automated control systems.

    • Partner with engineering and operations teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.

    • Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and technical calibration for precision systems.

    • Travel to southwestern regional facilities up to 4 times per year to assist with specialized technical projects, setups, or system reviews.

    Qualifications

    • Strong hands-on experience working directly with industrial laser equipment.

    • Proven technical knowledge of electrical control boards, circuit troubleshooting, and industrial electrical systems.

    • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams.

    • Willingness and ability to travel to the Southwest up to 4 times per year.

    • Solid communication skills and a team-first, problem-solving mindset.
