Laser Operator / Programmer

Location: Tulsa, OK
Pay: $19.00-$22.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-1:30 AM
Job Type: Full-Time

Laser Operator / Programmer – Must-Have Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of laser cutting or related manufacturing experience
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC laser cutting machines
  • Experience with Trumpf and/or Dener laser cutting equipment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, measuring tables, and tape measures
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to load and unload metal materials
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine and cutting issues
  • Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines

Laser Operator / Programmer – Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Laser Operator / Programmer to set up and operate Trumpf and Dener laser cutting machines and assist with laser programming and material nesting.

The ideal candidate will have strong CNC laser experience, the ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment, and experience programming nesting software to maximize material utilization. Experience with Metalix and TruTops software is preferred.

Laser Operator / Programmer – Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Trumpf and Dener laser cutting machines
  • Retrieve and load programs for production jobs
  • Select the correct material, nozzles, and assist gases for each job
  • Perform proper machine start-up and shutdown procedures
  • Monitor laser cutting operations and troubleshoot machining issues
  • Make machine adjustments and modifications as needed
  • Cut parts according to blueprints, work orders, and specifications
  • Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Use calipers, micrometers, measuring tables, and tape measures
  • Communicate quality or production issues to supervisors and engineering
  • Import DXF files into laser programming software
  • Convert files into usable machine programs
  • Nest parts onto the appropriate material to maximize material usage
  • Program nesting software for efficient production
  • Load and unload sheet metal and other materials
  • Maintain production quality and meet scheduled delivery requirements
  • Perform basic operator maintenance on laser equipment
  • Clean and maintain the machine and work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and regulations
