Role: Large‑Format CNC Milling Technician (Aerospace)
Location: Grand Prairie, TX
Pay: $25.39/hour | Shift: 2nd (1:30 PM–10:00 PM)

You’re entrusted with a complex aerospace component on a high-speed gantry. You translate a blueprint into motion, program the code, set the tools, and chase microns with metrology gear. You anticipate problems before they become downtime, document your run, and share insights with a teammate eager to learn the craft. That’s a good day here.
Your core responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC milling machines with emphasis on portal/gantry systems; Zimmermann know-how is highly valued
- Read engineering drawings/blueprints and leverage CAD/CAM outputs to define machining paths
- Write, adjust, and optimize G-code/M-code for complex profiles and 5‑axis movements
- Select tooling, manage offsets, and perform first-article plus in-process inspections
- Use calipers, micrometers, and CMM to verify feature accuracy
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and program issues to keep production flowing
- Conduct routine maintenance and coordinate scheduled services
- Keep precise production, inspection, and utilization records
- Uphold HSE standards; collaborate with engineers, quality, and planners; mentor junior operators
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required; Technical/Vocational certificate or Associate’s in Machining/Mechanical preferred
- 5+ years’ CNC machining experience in manufacturing
- Hands-on background with large-format/gantry mills; familiarity with 5‑axis
- Strong command of CNC controls and shop-floor programming
- Expert-level GD&T; skilled with precision measurement tools
- Ability to machine diverse materials, including acrylic
- Deep understanding of feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters
- Preferred: F. Zimmermann (FZ Series) experience; aerospace sector exposure; lean/CI (Kaizen, 5S)
- Strengths: Problem-solving, attention to detail, clear communication, teamwork, prioritization in a fast-paced production environment
