Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn new technology
  • Knowledge of Sony Laboratory, Windows 10 to diagnose and solve problems with hardware and software

Responsibilities:

Teacher Support: Aids teachers in creating innovative teaching materials and lessons which integrate technology. Conducts teacher training and professional development to best utilize the lab equipment. Trains and assists teachers in using all instructional equipment in the lab (with support from Chester Technical)

Student Support: Helps orient new students to the use of the laboratories. Aids in monitoring student sessions in the laboratory. Creates training materials for PC use in the labs

Technical Support: Does routine operational maintenance of laboratories. Works with the Technology Resource Center for needed repairs. Works with Chester Technical for needed repairs. Digitizes materials related to the curriculum of the World Language Department for student access in the lab and from home. Updates laboratory software as necessary

Administrative Support: Creates and maintains a data-base of hardware and software. Maintains online accounts utilized in the laboratory. Maintains repair record. Maintains laboratory manual. Maintains class laboratory schedules, seating, and purchase requests. Sends equipment out for repair

Communication: Attends pertinent conferences, workshops or meetings and reads current literature in the field of the lab in order to train staff. Sits on Technology Committee

Supervisory: Administers and monitors the National Language Contests and Advanced Placement Exams (AP Exams, Latin Exam, AAPPL, STAMP) - This includes all work to test and set up PCs prior to the exams. Helps monitor labs during open hours.
