Green Garden Landscaping is a Seattle-based landscape company providing full-service maintenance and installation for high end residential clients. We take pride in quality craftsmanship, dependable service, and building long-term relationships with our clients and our crews.
The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of both landscape maintenance and installation work, overseeing field crews to ensure projects and recurring services are completed safely, on schedule, on budget, and to Green Garden Landscaping's quality standards. This role bridges office planning and field execution — translating client scopes and project plans into clear daily direction for crews, and providing timely, accurate feedback to management on progress, issues, and resource needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily operations across enhancement, installation/construction, and irrigation projects, including crew assignments, equipment, and materials.
- Review scopes, plans, and takeoffs before mobilization so crews understand the work order, materials list, and site-specific requirements.
- Direct field crews and crew leads daily with clear priorities, on-site quality control, and hands-on problem solving.
- Conduct regular site visits and quality inspections across maintenance and installation work; correct deficiencies before client walkthroughs.
- Manage equipment and vehicle fleet readiness, including maintenance, repairs, and proper use across crews.
- Review and approve crew timesheets, material usage, and job costing data for accurate reporting to operations and accounting.
- Track job progress against budgeted hours and timelines; assess labor efficiency and material purchases to keep jobs on budget.
- Flag scope changes, delays, or cost overruns to management promptly.
- Serve as the primary field point of contact for clients during active installation projects, communicating progress and resolving on-site concerns.
- Coordinate with account management, design, sales, and leadership on site issues, project handoffs, and consistent service delivery on existing accounts.
- Use company software to keep job records, schedules, and notes current so handoffs between production and operations are clean and nothing is passed along verbally.
- Recruit, train, and mentor crew leads and field staff; build a culture of accountability, safety, and craftsmanship.
- Conduct field performance reviews, identify growth paths for crew leads and field staff, and build improvement plans where performance falls short.
- Flexibility during peak season (spring through fall) for extended hours.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in landscape maintenance and/or landscape construction, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or crew-lead role.
- Working knowledge of both softscape and hardscape practices: plant health, plant material, irrigation systems, turf care, grading, and installation of paver patios, retaining walls, and planting beds.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews and job sites simultaneously in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable managing schedules, budgets, and client-facing conversations.
- Valid WA driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate or oversee operation of trucks, trailers, and standard landscape equipment.
- Pesticide/herbicide applicator license (WSDA) preferred, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Proficiency with basic scheduling/job-costing software (e.g., LMN, Aspire, or similar) preferred.
