    Description

    Overview of Position:
    Mid Cal Labor Solutions is assisting with our partners in seeking a Land Technician.

     Working under supervision, provides technical and administrative support to the Land Manager and Land Department, assists in the preparation and management of oil & gas agreements, and related files and correspondence. 

    Ideal candidate must be extremely organized, have attention to detail and open communication with stakeholders.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Monitors and administers land agreement obligations and payments, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and timely tracking of key dates, approvals, and compliance requirements.
    • Records applicable documents in requisite county recorder and/or agency databases. 
    • Prepares and assists in preparing exhibits, presentations, custom spreadsheets, and reports.
    • Interfaces with royalty holders as needed to resolve division order interest inquiries.
    • Schedules and organizes department and/or partner meetings as needed.
    • All other job-related duties as assigned.
    Education and Experience
    Required
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Two (2) years of experience performing work providing the necessary experience to successfully complete the essential duties of the position.

    Desired
    • College degree with coursework in business administration, energy management, land management, or related field. 
    • Prior experience supporting land functions in oil and gas, energy, real estate, legal, or regulatory environment.
    • Notary Public of State of California.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    Required
    • Working knowledge of oil and gas land agreements and practices
    • Accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organization habits.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet/exceed deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
    • Valid California driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to the company’s auto insurance carrier.

    Desired
    • Proficiency with Quorum Land and Upstream management software.
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and county land records, leasing requirements, permitting processes, and recorder/agency filing procedures.
    • Experience using GIS, ArcGIS, mapping software, or land-management systems to create or update maps and plats.
    • Knowledge of public land survey systems, legal land descriptions, acreage calculations, and leasehold mapping concepts.
    Environment & Physical Demands
    Work is primarily conducted indoors within a professional office setting. The temperature and humidity are generally controlled, but conditions can fluctuate. Duties will require repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers; visual acuity for reading computer screens and/or preparing data; communicating with others to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, with standard office conversations and equipment in use. Light to moderate lifting (up to 20 pounds) of office supplies may be required occasionally. Position may require infrequent trips to field locations where they may be exposed to a range of environmental conditions.
