Core responsibilities

  • Collect windshield samples and cut them to produce standardized test specimens.
  • Prepare and execute body glass fragmentation tests.
  • Perform analysis across distortion, moisture, pummel, light transmission, boil, ball drop, and opacity for all windshield parts.
  • Conduct robustness testing when required.
  • Test the water softener system for each windshield line.
  • Complete follow-up testing on non-compliant product.
  • Carry out additional testing for European and Asian market parts.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of hands-on laboratory testing experience; glass industry exposure preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of ANSI standards and familiarity with European and Asian market standards.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Comfort interpreting and executing test specifications; understanding of tempered glass and windshield standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain test logs/results/data and craft reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Works well with minimal supervision; capable of surfacing key trends from data.

Work schedule

  • Alternative work schedule including 12-hour shifts.
  • May require more than 40 hours per week, including some weekends and holidays, based on projects and workload.
