    Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry.  We are a fast-paced, technically advanced, customer-focused operation creating high-quality, American-made products and we’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the Team!
     
    Position:  Laempe Machine Operator (2nd shift, starts at 1:30pm)
    Starting at $20/hr for those with machine experience 
     
    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Sets up, runs and monitors Laempe core making machine to make sand cores
    • Stage production supplies, load sand and resin mixtures
    • Inspect core for visual defects, cracks, etc.
    • Clear sand buildup, perform basic daily machine upkeep
    • Perform other duties as required
     
    Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • High School diploma/GED or equivalent preferred
    • 2+ years Machine Operator / Foundry experience, core making preferred
    • Ability to work independently and follow specific work instructions
     
    Work Environment and Physical Demands:
    • Handle moving objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning and moving materials. 
    • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking stooping and handling materials.
    • Indoor and outdoor climate conditions during all seasons and in varying temperatures.
    • Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs consistently and perform other heavy manual work in a hot and dirty environment
     
    Job Type:  Full Time.  Hourly, non-exempt.
