GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:This purpose of the Ladle Refiner is maintaining the operation of the LSS and LMF. Ladle Refiner ensures the temperature and chemistry of each heat through the LMF/LSS. They are to ensure the LMF/LSS is running as efficient as possible on their shift and work closely with the Melt Shop Shift Leader to ensure shop pacingEssention Job Functions:1. Operation of LSS / LMF ladle car.2. Initiation of sample taking and ensure the samples are sent to the lab 3. Initiation of temperature taking 4. Delivery of raw materials correctly through material feeding system. 5. Assist with Slide Gate Leader on any slidegate duties as needed6. General Housekeeping.7. Maintenance as required.8. Maintenance during outages. 9. Responsible for all pertinent paper work. 10. Work as team with all other departments. 11. Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by AOD/Ladle Prep Supervisor 12. Work area is cleaned, stocked, and 6S at all times13. Electrodes at LMF are slipped and full to ensure proper operation. 14. Let the ladle prep leader know if there are any issues that needs to be addressed in order for you to perform your job in a safe manner. Also, bring it up to the group leadthat your concern can get resolved,15. Monitor thermal vision during processing and alert the shift leader to any concerns with ladles before there's a failure16. Ensure the top lance is in working order and change if needed17. Make certain each heat goes to the caster at the request temperature to maintain shop pacing18. Ensure LMF/LSS wire is stocked and in the correct feedersSUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Other duties as assigned2. Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.3. Going to all safety and communication meetings.4. Maintain work area to 6S standard.5. Participate in TPM,SMED, and other auxiliary programs.6. Training on the Ladle Prep deck involving slide gate and IPV maintenance.MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:1. Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.2. Must work well with others.3.
