    Facility: East Cooper Medical Center | Location: Mount Pleasant, SC | Position Type: Full-Time | Work Schedule: Four 8-hour shifts/week starting by 8:30 a.m.; weekend and holiday rotation 

    What We're Looking For:

    Required: 

    • High School Diploma or GED, required.  

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.  

    • Minimum of one year of experience in mother/baby care or breast feeding education, required.  

    • Current IBCLC certification, required.  

    • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Excellent customer service skills.  

    Preferred: 

    • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.  

    • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, preferred. 

    What You'll Do:
    • Conduct comprehensive lactation assessments, including latch, positioning, milk transfer and infant weight patterns.  

    • Develop and document evidence-based, individualized feeding plans for complex breastfeeding challenges.  

    • Collaborate with RNs, pediatricians, obstetricians and neonatologists to coordinate care and safe discharge planning.  

    • Educate families through bedside coaching, outpatient breastfeeding classes and community support groups.  

    • Guide families on breast pumps, specialized feeding tools and donor milk options
