Assistant Building & Grounds Officer

Location: Exeter, RI

Compensation: $36-38 per hour

Schedule: Part-Time | 3 days per week

Hours: Exact days TBD; hours may vary based on manager needs

Job Description

Epitec is seeking an Assistant Building & Grounds Officer in Exeter, Rhode Island. This position will perform routine building maintenance and repairs while assisting with facility projects, vendor coordination, supplies, and repair estimates.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and other building equipment.
• Maintain and repair exterior elements, including roofs, siding, lighting, grounds, and signage.
• Identify and assess building damage and determine the scope of necessary repairs.
• Prepare estimates for maintenance and repair work as needed.
• Assist with requisitioning necessary supplies and materials.
• Assist with inspections of building service contracts, construction projects, and maintenance repairs.
• Support the bidding process for repair and replacement work.
• Follow established budget allotments for repair and replacement projects.
• Prepare simple specifications and drawings.
• Review contractor cost estimates for repairs and construction.
• Assist with planning, coordinating, and reviewing work performed by skilled tradespeople.
• Assist with billing, payments, requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice questions.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Previous experience in a responsible building maintenance position.
• Working knowledge of general building operations and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of materials and equipment used in building maintenance.
• Experience or knowledge related to HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical maintenance.
• Ability to prepare simple specifications and drawings.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with managers, vendors, contractors, and skilled tradespeople.
• Equivalent combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Additional Details

• This is a part-time position working 21 hours across 3 days per week.
• Exact working days are to be determined.
• Daily hours may vary and will be determined by the manager.
