JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

 The Laborer position is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at the plant.  The duties vary day to day depending on the needs of operations. 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

List the essential functions, major activities and the main areas of ongoing responsibility concerning the position. Give the precise long- term results or the contributions expected of the position.  Use action verbs (ex: contribute, assure, supervise…) to indicate the degree of responsibility of the position with regards to the expected results. The duties and responsibilities of a laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient plant while also supporting the overall operations.

On any given day, the duties and responsibilities could include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performs various physical duties as assigned
• Maintain all safety standards
• Cleaning up spills and broken bags
• Sweeping
• Shoveling
• Brooming
• Using vacuums
• Bar code scanning
• Packaging

The above sets forth the major work performed.  It is understood that other related work, not specifically listed, may from time to time be assigned by the Supervisor.

• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Attention to detail and staying alert at all times to ensure safety
• Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers
