Axalta is seeking a Laborer to support daily Continuous Improvement, Safety, Quality, and Housekeeping initiatives. This hands-on role will assist with 5S activities throughout the facility using painting equipment, hand tools, and other mechanical equipment.
Job Description
- Clean walls, ledges, flat surfaces, floors, and equipment.
- Paint floor and wall markings according to 5S standards.
- Organize and arrange tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Use an air chisel for floor-cleaning activities.
- Assist with 5S activities, including Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
- Label equipment and use a stencil maker to create floor-marking labels.
- Perform basic computer tasks to track Continuous Improvement progress.
- Follow established safety procedures and standard operating procedures.
- Regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions.
- Routinely lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Work around moving mechanical equipment and in hot, cold, or humid conditions.
Required Skills
- Ability to safely operate various types of mechanical equipment and hand tools.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer/PC skills; Microsoft Word and Excel experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment with moderate noise, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift.
- Must successfully complete required background screening and drug testing.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
