Description

Title:        Laboratory Technician
Location:        San Jose, CA 95134
Duration:        0-5+ Months (Possible Extension)
Shift:                8: 00 AM - 5: 00 PM ( M-F)
Pay Rate:        $23.00/Hour on W2
 
Job Description:
Training will start at 9am for the first months of assignment.
  • Candidate must have the ability to pay attention to details
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The Laboratory Technician is responsible for utilizing a wide array of computers, tools and automated machines to manufacture and qualify microplates used in Liquid transfer products.
  • This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is part of the Manufacturing Operation’s team located in San Jose, CA and will be an on-site role.
 
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
•Following established procedures to setup, fill and test various microplates
•Analyze large datasets using Excel and other advanced data analysis software
•Contribute to group problem solving and process improvement activities
 
The essential requirements of the job include:
•Have at least an AS degree in Life Science, Chemistry, or Engineering technology discipline (required)
•Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a technical, manufacturing or laboratory position
•Must be familiar with laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, micropipettes and analytical balance
•Proficiency in PC applications skills: MS Word, Excel, MS Access, Windows Explorer
 
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
•Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 35lb (not usual)
•Ability to do repetitive work
 
It would be a plus if previous experience in:
•Prior work experience with automation, plate readers, liquid handling equipment.
•Experience with SQL, Python, or other programming languages (not required - this is a plus)
