Job Summary

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable services to customers in the oil and gas industry. This position performs quality assurance testing on products, prepares laboratory reports, and provides technical support related to additive selection and fluid design.

 

Job Description

  • Perform laboratory quality assurance tests on products and materials.
  • Prepare accurate laboratory reports prior to service delivery at the wellsite.
  • Provide technical support for additive selection and fluid design.
  • Ensure all job deliverables are accurate, complete, and delivered on time.
  • Develop the technical competency necessary to perform advanced additive selection and fluid design.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment in clean, safe, and working condition.
  • Ensure laboratory waste is properly and regularly disposed of in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Conduct regular laboratory audits to ensure operations comply with required standards.
  • Assist Design/Technical Engineers and Product Champions with technical support as needed.
  • Perform risk assessments before tasks and jobs to identify and mitigate potential safety or quality concerns.
  • Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers and support continuous improvement through action plans.
  • Participate in HSE and quality initiatives.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and consistently follow HSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain all required safety training and certifications.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, laboratory performance, and overall quality.

 

Skills Required

  • Willingness and ability to work 12-hour shifts, including both day and night rotations, is critical.
  • Prior experience working in a chemical laboratory environment preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow established safety procedures and laboratory protocols.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

 

Education

  • Minimum: Associate degree or high school diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (technical or science-related)

 

Pay Rate

  • $21 - $23 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
