Job Overview
PROLIM is seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician 2 to support Northrop Grumman's Legacy Navigation Integration & Test department in Woodland Hills, California. The selected candidate will support engineering lab operations, manage test equipment assets, coordinate equipment calibration and maintenance, and assist with test setup and execution for complex systems.
This is an onsite contract opportunity for a hands-on technician who can work effectively with engineers and test teams to maintain lab readiness, equipment reliability, and efficient testing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and track test equipment inventory, asset records, and related documentation.
- Support daily engineering laboratory operations and readiness activities.
- Coordinate calibration, maintenance, and repair of tools and test equipment.
- Prepare repair documentation, submit service requests, and track issues through resolution.
- Stage hardware and configure fixtures, cables, and instrumentation for test activities.
- Maintain organized laboratory and test areas, ensuring proper equipment storage, labelling, and handling.
- Communicate equipment status, calibration schedules, and maintenance issues to engineers and test leads.
- Collaborate with engineering, testing, and program management teams to support upcoming test requirements.
- Follow established procedures, engineering instructions, and laboratory safety guidelines.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in an engineering laboratory, testing environment, or manufacturing setting.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, test equipment, and mechanical or electrical hardware.
- Ability to follow written procedures, technical instructions, and safety requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift and move equipment as required.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical coursework or vocational training in electronics, mechanics, or engineering technology.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical or mechanical drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
- Experience supporting test setup and execution for complex systems.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting legacy Windows operating systems and Linux.
- Knowledge of ESD handling, laboratory safety, and test lab best practices.
