The MT or MLT performs all laboratory procedures in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. In addition the Team C oordinator will: - Perform preventative maintenance and review records to assure all preventative measures are being performed
- Reviews QC data to assure accuracy of results
- Reviews monthly reagent logs and calibration records for proper documentation , with recommendations for adherence to policies as needed
- Performs calibration procedures and trouble-shooting techniques in area of expertise
- Recommends to Senior Director new instrumentation, supplies, and new testing in department
- Maintains proficiency in assigned area and provides a reference for problems that may occur
- Assists in investigation of physician inquiries and occurrence reports
- Is responsible for regulatory requirements in area for JCAHO, CAP, FDA, AABB, DHEC , etc…
- Oversees training of personnel
- Updates departmental SOP, represents Lab on hospital committees, and compiles necessary reports pertinent to department
