Description

Pay Range: $24.02hr - $29.02hr

Job Overview:

The candidate will serve as a Lab Support Specialist, managing day-to-day laboratory operations including inventory management, equipment maintenance, waste stream coordination, procurement support, and assisting with NGS library prep workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Run monthly lab organization meetings to address concerns and share information.
  • Manage waste streams and schedule Triumvirate waste pick-ups.
  • Manage chemical inventory for existing and new chemicals entering the lab.
  • Handle ordering management by placing and receiving orders for common supplies and consumables.
  • Manage inventory to ensure sufficient stock of consumables is available in the lab.
  • Coordinate vendor visits to the lab.
  • Manage service contracts and work with procurement to renew contracts.
  • Manage new equipment and CapEx purchases, collaborating with procurement to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Perform daily, monthly, and yearly equipment maintenance.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance (PM) management and calibration management.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, and customer visits to the lab.
  • Manage lab coat inventory and cleaning services.
  • Learn NGS library prep workflows to assist in manual testing.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
  • Laboratory experience is preferred.
