Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Laboratory Supervisor to join our team at Luminary Genetics in San Jose, California.

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM Pacific Time 
• Compensation: $85,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

How You’ll Contribute

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all aspects of PGT-A/PGT-SR/PGT-M/PGT-L testing, including but not limited to, sample receiving, amplification, library preparation, sequencing, and reporting. This position requires high attention to detail and the ability to accurately follow protocols.

In this role, the Laboratory Supervisor will: 

• Analyze NGS data for chromosomal aneuploidies and monogenic disorder inheritance patterns and accurately compile patient results into report summaries
• Maintain laboratory equipment and consumable inventory under the supervision of the laboratory manager
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements and standards for the laboratory
• Follow quality assurance and quality control programs
• Observe all laboratory safety policies
• Troubleshoot, protocol, and equipment malfunctions under the direction of laboratory manager
• Handling blood-borne pathogens and general laboratory reagents
• Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.

Qualifications and Skills Include:

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology or relevant field required
• Lab degree and/or related work experience preferred
• Familiarity with ThermoFisher Ion GeneStudio and Ion Genexus instruments preferred
• Familiarity with Ion Reporter, Genome Browser, and IGV preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience in laboratory setting performing PGT-A/PGT-SR/PGT-M/PGT-L or equivalent
