Laboratory Field Sampling Technician

An Associate's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field, OR Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (2) years of experience in water/wastewater laboratory work. Preferred qualifications include: Experience in water sample collection with field analysis (must specify on application) , Experience in the use of a LIMS (must specify on application) , Laboratory experience in the environmental field or with public utilities, and.

Collects, receives, and logs samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in compliance with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Performs physical and chemical analyses on drinking water, groundwater and wastewater samples and documents the results. Disposes of samples. Prepares, dispenses and disposes of chemical solutions. Calibrates, operates, and maintains field and laboratory equipment. Cleans field and laboratory equipment and sample containers. Complies with laboratory SOPs and safety procedures. Understands and complies with all applicable The National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) Institute (TNI) requirements. Inputs and maintains accurate data records within the LIMS. Maintains inventory. Creates and modifies SOPs. Completes Chain of Custody (COC) documents.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
