    A regional medical center in Alexandria is seeking an experienced Laboratory Director to oversee all laboratory services and lead a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality patient care. This leadership opportunity is responsible for the overall operation of the laboratory, including blood bank, chemistry and hematology, and microbiology services.

    The Laboratory Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the department, ensuring laboratory services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This role oversees daily operations, establishes departmental goals, supports staff development, and promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional excellence.

    Responsibilities include coordinating laboratory activities across multiple disciplines, maintaining quality assurance standards, monitoring operational performance, and ensuring accurate, timely diagnostic services. The director also works closely with hospital leadership and clinical teams to support patient care initiatives while managing departmental resources and driving continuous process improvement.

    Qualifications:

    • Recent acute care laboratory leadership experience at the Manager or Supervisor level

    • Experience overseeing a large laboratory team is strongly preferred

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution

    • Current Medical Technologist state license

    • Active certification with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required
