Title: Laboratory Analyst/Chemist
Pay Rate: $30 - $33
Location: 11177 S. Stadium Drive, Sugar Land TX
This is a temporary position - with possibility of extended contract based on needs.
Fully Onsite in Sugarland
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Analyst/Chemist to support laboratory operations through chemical testing, sample preparation, data analysis, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience performing wet chemistry analyses, working with oil samples, and utilizing analytical and other instrumentation in a laboratory environment. Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced wet chemistry laboratory testing and analysis.
- Prepare, process, and analyze crude and related samples in accordance with established procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
- Accurately document test results, observations, and analytical data.
- Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Follow laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to support research, testing, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook for data management, reporting, presentations, and communication.
Qualifications
Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- General chemistry laboratory experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience handling and testing oil samples.
- Previous Laborartory Setting experience
- Hands-on experience with Gas Chromatography (GC).
- Experience with CHNS Elemental Analysis.
- Experience using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field with laboratory experience; or
- High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant laboratory experience.
