Description:

Job Summary

The Labor Technician relocates and sets up furniture, and performs other miscellaneous functions in support of university events and projects.

Duties

  • Relocates, organizes, and sets up furniture
  • Assists with event set-ups
  • Assists carpenters, painters, and electricians
  • Provides assistance as necessary in the A/C shop
  • Cleans construction sites
  • Operates machinery as necessary to complete tasks

Marginal Duties

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • Experience in lieu of education

Required Experience:

  • At least six (6) months of experience performing manual labor, groundskeeping, facilities, construction, warehouse, maintenance, or closely related work
  • Education in lieu of experience

License/Certification:

  • Must maintain a valid, current driver''s license

  • May, on rare occasions, be required to work in a confined space, in a high, dangerous place, or be exposed to vibration
  • Must have precise hand-eye coordination, good spatial awareness, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Must have the ability to move items of up to 100lbs
