Overview

Indulge your love of numbers and data as you manage the flow of surveys and reports submitted to the Vermont Department of Labor. Our Economic & Labor Market Information team is currently hiring a Labor Market Research Analyst! Duties include assigning industry codes to new firms, tracking down missing information, maintaining records, and transferring the data collected into various reports consistent with federal methodologies. The data produced, such as wages and employment by industry, provide researchers and policy makers with an accurate picture of the VT economy.

We''re looking for candidates with an excellent track record of customer service (both via phone and email), and with the aptitude to organize and format economic data. Experience analyzing quantitative data is a plus, but not required.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Some out of state travel is required. Appearances before civic, municipal, regional or other planning and development groups may involve evening and weekend duty and require that private means of transportation be available. Duties require discrete handling of sensitive economic and employment data.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor''s degree which includes 9 or more college credits in research and/or statistics.

OR

Two years of full-time college coursework OR an associate''s degree AND two (2) years or more of experience working with detailed data systems which may include statistical data collection, categorizing, reporting and/or analysis of specialized data.

OR

High School diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years or more of years or more of experience working with detailed data systems which may include statistical data collection, categorizing, reporting and/or analysis of specialized data.
