Job Details

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our labor and employment practice. In this role, we represent employers in a wide range of workplace disputes and compliance matters. You will work closely with clients on litigation strategy, risk management, and employment law issues while taking ownership of significant case responsibilities and contributing to a collaborative legal team.

This position is ideal for an attorney who enjoys managing complex employment matters, interacting directly with clients, and handling litigation from inception through resolution.

Responsibilities

Manage employment litigation matters through all phases of the case lifecycle
Conduct witness interviews and factual investigations
Review and analyze large volumes of electronic documents and evidence
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation filings
Conduct and defend depositions
Attend court hearings, conferences, and other proceedings
Communicate directly with clients regarding strategy, case developments, and risk assessments
Negotiate and correspond with opposing counsel
Provide guidance on employment-related legal issues and workforce management concerns
Assist clients with workplace policies, employee relations matters, and compliance initiatives
Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on complex legal issues

Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience handling labor and employment matters
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
Experience managing litigation matters with increasing levels of responsibility
Demonstrated ability to draft high-quality legal briefs, motions, and other advocacy documents
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail
Experience advising employers on workplace legal issues is beneficial

Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in NY or ability to waive in
Strong academic credentials
Experience handling depositions, motion practice, and court appearances
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with legal teams
Commitment to providing practical, client-focused legal counsel
