Labor and Employment Associate (Labor Relations Focus) - Portland, OR

Our client, a prominent AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a highly qualified Associate to join its expanding Labor & Employment practice in Portland. This role involves representing employers before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the NLRB, on matters such as collective bargaining, labor arbitration, union organizing campaigns, and labor injunctions.

The estimated salary range for this position is $260,000 – $285,000 (annually) and may vary depending on experience and other factors.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • 6-8 years of traditional labor experience
  • Experience representing and counseling clients on collective bargaining, labor arbitration, union organizing campaigns, picketing, strikes, and labor injunctions
  • Experience handling Representation proceedings and Unfair Labor Practice investigations and litigation before the NLRB
  • Comfortable counseling clients on employment law compliance, drafting employment agreements, and assisting with employment litigation
  • Experience or knowledge of occupational safety and health, prevailing wage law, and multiemployer benefit plans is a plus
  • Active bar admission in Washington or Oregon, or ability to waive in (ideally admitted or eligible in both jurisdictions)
  • Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and strong academic credentials
