Title: LAB Vantage - Technical Architect
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 6+ months
Salary Range: $55- $58 an hour on W2

We are seeking an experienced LabVantage Technical Architect with deep expertise in LabVantage LIMS, LES, SDMS, and system integrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, configuring, and implementing LabVantage solutions, integrating laboratory instruments, and enabling seamless data exchange between analytical systems. This role requires strong technical architecture skills, expertise in Empower integration, SDMS, and instrument connectivity while ensuring data integrity, compliance, and laboratory automation best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement enterprise solutions using LabVantage LIMS, LES, and SDMS.
• Evaluate existing laboratory environments and recommend scalable architecture and integration strategies.
• Design and configure the LabVantage Empower Connector to integrate Waters Empower 3 (v3.6.1) with LabVantage LIMS (v8.8).
• Recommend the most suitable integration approach based on technical architecture, master data, and business requirements.
• Design and configure LabVantage SDMS for bidirectional integration with complex laboratory instruments.
• Architect integrations between SDMS, LIMS, LES, and enterprise laboratory applications.
• Evaluate laboratory instruments and recommend the best interfacing approach while ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrity.
• Configure interfaces for simple analytical instruments such as balances, pH meters, moisture analyzers, and similar devices.
• Configure hardware communication devices such as Lantronix for laboratory instrument connectivity.
• Work closely with laboratory scientists, business analysts, validation teams, and IT stakeholders to implement robust laboratory solutions.
• Support migration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and optimization of LabVantage environments.
• Ensure compliance with GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ALCOA+, and data integrity guidelines.
• Prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and configuration documents.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best-practice guidance to implementation teams.

Required Experience

• 8 15+ years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with LabVantage LIMS.
• Strong experience designing and configuring LabVantage Empower Connector.
• Experience integrating Waters Empower 3 (v3.6.1) with LabVantage LIMS (v8.8).
• Hands-on experience configuring LabVantage SDMS.
• Experience integrating complex laboratory instruments with LabVantage.
• Experience configuring simple instrument data capture solutions.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows and instrument communication.
• Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, CRO, or laboratory environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• LabVantage Certification (Preferred)
• Experience with NuGenesis Data Archive
