Lab Technician

Position Summary

The Technical Center is seeking an Analyst to support laboratory testing and quality evaluation activities across multiple scientific disciplines. Analysts may work within specialized laboratory groups including Analytical Testing, Microbiology, Stability, or Materials Testing, contributing to product quality, research, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career scientists to gain experience in a fast-paced laboratory environment while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory testing and analysis in support of product quality, development, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform laboratory procedures following established methods, protocols, and safety standards.
  • Collect, analyze, document, and communicate experimental data and test results accurately.
  • Support testing activities within specialized laboratory functions including analytical chemistry, microbiology, stability, and materials testing.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment as trained.
  • Prepare samples, reagents, standards, and testing materials according to laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory records, documentation, and data in compliance with internal quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and testing priorities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to increase laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support multiple projects while adapting to changing business needs and testing schedules.
  • Follow all laboratory safety, quality, and environmental requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Food Science, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or another related scientific discipline.
  • Laboratory experience gained through academic coursework, research projects, internships, co-ops, or industry experience.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques, scientific principles, and good laboratory practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to accurately document observations, procedures, and results.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with analytical laboratory techniques such as HPLC, GC, wet chemistry, titrations, spectroscopy, microbiological testing, or materials testing.
  • Experience working in food, beverage, consumer products, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, environmental, or manufacturing laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, data analysis, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or electronic data systems.
  • Internship, co-op, undergraduate research, or industry laboratory experience.
  • Interest in quality testing, product development, manufacturing support, or scientific operations.

Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced laboratory environment supporting multiple testing and quality initiatives. Analysts work closely with team members across various laboratory functions and must be comfortable adjusting priorities as project needs evolve. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday with occasional overtime based on business demands. Success in this role requires flexibility, teamwork, critical thinking, and a willingness to learn new laboratory techniques and technologies.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
