Job Description:

Seeking a Lab Technician to join a company in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

Responsibilities:

• Work independently within established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements, escalating deviations, equipment issues, or non-conforming results to the Regional Laboratory Supervisor as required.
• Perform routine and specialized analytical methods to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished products against established specifications.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including NIR, laser diffraction, spectrophotometry, GC, HPLC, NMR, and other relevant analytical equipment.
• Record, verify, and maintain analytical data within LIMS and other laboratory systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting.
• Monitor analytical method performance by running and evaluating control samples and verifying compliance with established quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration checks, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Manage laboratory inventory levels, including reagents, standards, consumables, and other laboratory supplies.
• Coordinate laboratory purchasing activities in accordance with established procedures.
• Support laboratory hazardous waste management and disposal activities in compliance with local regulations and company requirements.
• Conduct routine laboratory housekeeping and weekly maintenance activities in accordance with 5S principles.
• Follow all safety, quality, and compliance requirements and actively contribute to a safe working environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on laboratory efficiency, effectiveness, data quality, and safety performance.
• Ensure analytical results are delivered accurately and within agreed timelines to support business and customer needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and laboratory data management systems.
• Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment while managing multiple priorities.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and compliance standards.
