Compensation Considerations:
Scheduling every other weekend, day shift 6:30 AM to 1500 PM. Training schedule day shift 6:30 AM to 15:00 Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday

Job Description:
Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Technician dedicated to making a positive difference. Your impact as a Laboratory Technician is vital. Support Vitalant's life-saving mission by operating within the laboratory handling responsibilities that include component production, labeling, record reviewing and data entry.
What to Expect
Job Grade: 114
Hourly Pay: 18.27 - 18.67 DOE
Schedule: M-F 6:30 am - 3:00 pm - Every other Weekend required
Training Schedule: Day shift 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday

- Maintain accurate data records and documentation.
- Prepare blood components through processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration.
- Ensure product quality, volume, appearance, and time requirements.
- Conduct labeling for routine and special components and implement quarantine procedures.

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
- High School graduate or GED required.
- No experience required.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be detail oriented and possess strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Must be able to maintain donor, patient and employee confidentiality.
- Must possess basic keyboarding skills and the ability to handle and operate laboratory equipment.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.
