Description

Laboratory Technician

Duration: 1 Month
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician for a short-term, one-month assignment. This role is responsible for performing laboratory testing and analysis using standard laboratory procedures, computerized equipment, and testing instruments. The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established testing protocols and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests and analyses according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Determine the chemical and physical characteristics, composition, and properties of materials and substances.
  • Operate, calibrate, adjust, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Utilize computerized laboratory systems and testing equipment to collect and record data.
  • Prepare samples and conduct routine laboratory testing.
  • Accurately document test results and maintain laboratory records.
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment and resolving testing issues as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Communicate results and findings to appropriate personnel.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or at least two years of post-secondary education in Chemistry, Biology, Laboratory Science, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory experience may be considered.
  • Experience operating laboratory instruments and testing equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous laboratory testing experience in a manufacturing, chemical, environmental, pharmaceutical, or quality control setting.
  • Experience with laboratory information systems (LIMS) or computerized testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and quality standards.

  • Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Employment Type: Contract
