Lab Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a Lab Technician to support quality control and production testing in a wet laboratory environment. This role involves performing routine lab tests, preparing and adjusting chemical formulations, operating laboratory equipment, and accurately recording results. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable with basic math calculations, and able to work in a production-focused setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory testing, including titrations, gel testing, and other quality control analyses.
  • Operate laboratory equipment such as viscometers and thermo/balances.
  • Prepare, mix, and adjust chemical formulations and batches according to specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks on materials and finished products.
  • Record and maintain accurate test data and laboratory documentation.
  • Follow safety, GMP, and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to support production needs.
  • Learn and apply basic formulas and percentage calculations for solution adjustments.
  • Work assigned shifts as needed to support laboratory operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous laboratory or wet chemistry experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and quality control processes.
  • Strong math skills, including working with percentages and measurements.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work first, second, or third shift.
  • Associate"s degree, bachelor"s degree, or coursework in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Production laboratory supporting resin, gel coat, and colorant manufacturing.

  • Initial training on first shift (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM).

  • Regular shift:

  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM-7:00 AM

  • Must be willing to work any shift as business needs require.

  • Exposure to chemical odors common in manufacturing environments.

  • Safety shoes required; safety goggles and lab coats provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Collierville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.67 - $26.67/hr.
