We are seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician to support the production of veterinary products in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position will perform laboratory and cell culture-related activities while strictly following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), aseptic techniques, and safety requirements.
The ideal candidate will have laboratory, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or scientific experience. Cell culture, vaccine, cleanroom, and SAP experience are highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory and manufacturing procedures supporting veterinary product production.
- Perform aseptic techniques, media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue/cell culture preparation and harvest, and vaccine filling.
- Set up and operate laboratory and production equipment.
- Use equipment such as pH meters, UniFuge, and other laboratory instruments.
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow GMP requirements, SOPs, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate charts, logbooks, production records, and other required documentation.
- Communicate unusual or non-routine occurrences to department supervision.
- Support equipment cleaning and preparation throughout the manufacturing process.
- Work with embryonic eggs used for virus propagation.
- Handle laboratory chemicals and disinfectants in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with production and laboratory personnel to maintain quality and production schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree OR High School Diploma/GED with commensurate experience.
- GMP experience required.
- Experience working in an aseptic, cleanroom, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment.
- Ability to accurately read and follow detailed SOPs and work instructions.
- Prior SAP experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to successfully complete a physical abilities assessment before starting onsite.
- Ability to work a 4 × 10-hour-day schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cell culture experience.
- Vaccine or biological product manufacturing experience.
- Scientific or biotechnology background.
- Experience using pH meters, UniFuge, and laboratory equipment.
- Veterinary pharmaceutical or biological manufacturing experience.
- Previous experience working with aseptic processing or cleanroom procedures.
Work Environment
This position operates in a GMP-regulated laboratory/manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to aseptic procedures, safety protocols, and SOPs. The role may involve exposure to materials including isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, phenolic disinfectants, and oxidizers.
Ideal candidate: A junior-level lab or manufacturing professional with GMP + aseptic/cleanroom experience, strong documentation skills, and the ability to work hands-on in a regulated production environment.
