Job Description

The Treasure Valley Anatomy & Physiology Laboratories TVAPL_ Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ISU-Meridian Treasure Valley Anatomy & Physiology Laboratories TVAPL and ensuring a safe and effective laboratory environment that supports high-quality human anatomy education, research, and training. Key responsibilities include implementing the highest laboratory safety standards, policies, and procedures, managing the ethical procurement and disposition of human anatomical donors and specimens, actively participating in lab-based teaching and dissection, managing lab operational resources and expenditures, supporting budgeting and planning efforts, supervising staff, techs, and volunteers, and coordinating scheduling for bioskills and other professional laboratory programs.

Working closely with the Director of the Labs, the Lab Manager also supports the continued expansion and strategic growth of TVAPL.

Position Eligibility

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the ISU-Meridian TVAPL labs. • Ensure strict compliance with all laboratory safety, security, and regulatory requirements, including hazardous waste handling and disposal. • Implement and maintain guidelines, policies, and standard operating procedures governing lab use and operations. • Manage the ethical procurement, use, and disposition of human anatomical donors and fresh-frozen specimens to support TVAPL lab users, including ICOM. • Actively participate in TVAPL lab-based educational programs and courses through teaching and dissection. • Take active part in the development and execution of annual TVAPL budgets, business, and staffing plans. • Supervise collaboratively TVAPL staff, technicians, volunteers, and support personnel. • Manage laboratory financial expenditures, chemicals, consumables, equipment, and supplies. • Work with vendors to obtain bids, procure supplies and equipment, and recommend necessary purchases. • Schedule and oversee TVAPL Bioskills and professional lab activities. • Ensure effective execution of TVAPLs mission goals and strategic priorities. • Drive the strategic growth and expansion of the TVAPL labs.
