1st Shift
M-F 6a-2:30p
Job Classification: Hourly/Salary, Full time
Reports to: Lab Supervisor
Job Responsibility Summary: Accuracy of internal and external testing of steel properties and maintenance of laboratory accreditation.
Position Requirements:
*Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
*Knowledge of ISO17025 standard preferred.
*Basic understanding of coating differences for flat roll steel
*Ability to work around moving machines.
*Must have better than average written skills.
*Must have Microsoft Office experience.
*Must be well spoken and able to work with all departments to implement change.
*Must be able to work in a fast pace environment as well as multi-task.
*Must be organized and capable of retaining records.
Job Duties Include, but not limited to:
*Provide clean and safe work areas to self and others
*Scheduling and tracking of all sample pick-ups
*Monitor all “UNTESTED” Target Steel inventory and get appropriate testing completed.
*Able to track incoming email request and designate testing priorities (spreadsheet)
*Document various test results into computer system and interpret when actions are needed based on results obtained.
*Keep track of testing totals per designated spreadsheet.
*Communicate status of testing to all interested parties
*Dispatch and coordinate Outside Client request & test results
*Be willing to read and understand all changes to standards to stay compliant
*Able to provide updates for procedures and documents to appropriate designee to remain in compliance with external accreditation agencies
*Provide corrective/preventive actions when necessary
*Any assignments given by Lab Supervisor.
