Lab Associate
Title: Lab Associate
Location: Largo, FL
Industry: Pharmaceutical & Chemical Manufacturing
Schedule: Day Shift Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm
Pay Rate: $20/hr.
Employment Type: Contract with the possibility to go permanent
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Maintains sample organization
- Receives samples from production and completely/accurately fills out the chain of custody logbook
- Communicates issues with sample receipts directly to manufacturing
- Prints testing standards and issues worksheets for samples, including bulk, packaged goods, stability, and validations
- Creates test packets for techs/chemists and stages them on the sample supermarket shelf (samples plus documentation)
- Retain finished packaged product
- Manages orderliness and cleanliness of the QC retain cage
- Fulfills retain sample requests from other departments (such as customer complaints)
- Assists with archival of lab data packets other documentation as directed
- Manages the lab s glassware and plasticware washing processes
- Soaks, cleans, dries, and stores away laboratory glassware almost daily
- Maintains the soak solutions (soap, acidic, methanol, etc.) to ensure they are kept clean and fresh using lab safety practices for discarding old solutions and preparing new ones
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on the lab s dishwasher and drying oven
- Manages the process to send out critical lab samples for external testing, including frequent communication with the courier service
- Performs basic laboratory testing such as organoleptic, pH, and viscosity
- Performs various housekeeping tasks in the lab as assigned
- Performs various administrative tasks as assigned by lab supervision/management
QUALIFICATIONS:- Some college (Science, Technical) preferred, but minimum High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years working in cGMP environment (pharmaceutical or related industry experience preferred)
- Basic handwriting with legibility
- Basic math skills
- Basic Computer skills (Word, Excel)
- Availability to work longer hours and or weekends as needed
- Clear comprehension of the English language: read, write, and interpret
CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Positive attitude
- Good work ethic
- Lifting some items up to ~40lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Efficiently manage time to complete necessary tasks

- Able to make clear, concise decisions with customers/vendors on phone calls
