Position SummaryJob Description Summary:
Peer Mentors (PMs) are assigned to work in the SLRC to provide support to students and the SLRC staff. Support is accomplished in a variety of ways:
- Review of basic skills, practicing vital signs and health assessment.
- Assist students with Deliberate Practice (DP) including tracking student visits.
- Help students with any skills needed (vital signs, BP, catheterization, injections, etc.).
- Help with set up and break down of simulation events.
- Assist with keeping the SLRC maintained.
Requirements:
- Students in good academic standing.
- Full-time enrolled College of Nursing student.
Additional Information
Lab Assistant/Peer Mentors must supply two references from clinical faculty. Please upload these to your application.
Physical Demands Summary
- Assist with lifting/moving full body sized mannequins in excess of 25 lbs, medical equipment, beds, tables, carts, audiovisual equipment.
- Requires manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and standing for periods of time.
Wage Rate
$10.00 per hour
