Description Summary
Position Summary
The Lab Assistant provides academic and operational support to program coordinators, faculty, and students within assigned laboratory, classroom, clinical, studio, or other instructional settings. This position assists with instructional activities and assessments, supports students as they complete assigned work, and helps prepare and maintain a safe, organized, and effective learning environment.
The Lab Assistant may assist with the setup and cleanup of instructional activities, maintenance of equipment and supplies, recordkeeping, and other duties necessary to support the assigned academic program.

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a field related to the assigned program or instructional area, or at least 6,000 hours of directly related professional or occupational experience, is required.
The successful candidate must possess relevant education, training, professional experience, or technical knowledge appropriate to the assigned program. Additional licenses, certifications, registrations, or other qualifications may be required based on the instructional area.

The physical requirements of this position may vary based on the assigned academic program and instructional environment. The position may involve sitting, standing, walking, talking, listening, observing student activities, reaching, bending, grasping, using fine-motor skills, viewing instructional materials or equipment, and performing repetitive motions.
The position may also require writing on boards, using instructional aids and equipment, carrying or moving instructional materials, traveling between College buildings, and occasionally traveling to off-campus instructional sites, recruitment activities, meetings, or training events.
The position may require lifting or moving instructional materials, supplies, or equipment. Specific physical and safety requirements will be determined by the assigned program and the essential functions of the position.
