    Description

In this role you'll lead end-to-end delivery of client projects spanning network installations, cloud migrations, cybersecurity implementations, and hardware deployments. You won't just execute — you'll help shape how we scope, document, and continuously improve our delivery model.

    What You'll Do

Technical Project DeliveryOwn end-to-end technical execution of client projects — network installations, cloud migrations, cybersecurity implementations, and hardware deployments — ensuring all solutions meet company standards for performance, reliability, and security.
Solution Design & ScopingAssess technical feasibility and contribute design input for assigned projects, ensuring accurate scope definition, effort estimates, and early risk identification before execution begins.
Quality AssuranceValidate, test, and confirm all deliverables are fully functional before project closure, in compliance with security best practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
DocumentationOwn the accuracy and completeness of project documentation — system configurations, deployment steps, and resolution procedures — across all designated platforms.
Vendor CoordinationManage vendor and third-party relationships to ensure technical commitments are met on time and within project scope.
Stakeholder CommunicationKeep the Project Manager and stakeholders informed of progress, blockers, and outcomes. Lead a complete knowledge transfer to internal teams at project closeout.
System & Client UpdatesProactively update client-facing portals and internal tracking systems at every major milestone and status change.
Budget ManagementMonitor project hours and costs against allocated budgets throughout execution. Escalate risks early and take corrective action to keep projects profitable.
Process ImprovementAfter every project, identify at least one thing that could be done faster or more cost-effectively. Contribute to the company knowledge base and propose reusable templates, runbooks, or automation.

    What We're Looking For

    • 5+ years of experience delivering IT infrastructure or technology projects in an MSP or enterprise environment
    • Hands-on experience with networking, cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure, or similar), and cybersecurity implementations
    • Strong documentation habits — you leave every project better documented than you found it
    • Budget and hours awareness — you treat time as a resource and flag risks before they become problems
    • Clear, proactive communicator who doesn't wait for check-ins to share status or blockers
    • Continuous improvement mindset — you look for ways to make the next project easier than the last
    • Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or similar) are a plus

    How You'll Operate

Project Engineers are expected to run with ownership and discipline. Here's what day-to-day accountability looks like in this role:

    Communication
    • Update ticket notes, time entries, and project records within 24 hours of activity
    • Send a daily summary email to management covering what you accomplished, what you need, and what's next — exceptions made for long or late hours
    • Proactively surface risks and blockers to your Manager — don't wait to be asked

    Budget Discipline
    • Track hours worked against project budgets continuously — not just at close
    • Flag budget risks immediately with a recommended path forward
    • Document any scope additions that push hours beyond original estimates and escalate for change order consideration

    Process & Profitability
    • Minimize rework, unnecessary coordination, and inefficient sequencing — treat hours as a finite resource
    • Identify vendor or procurement opportunities that reduce costs without compromising quality
    • Contribute lessons learned and reusable artifacts to internal knowledge base after each project

    Success Looks Like

You'll be measured not just on whether projects close — but on the quality of your documentation, the accuracy of your system updates, how well you managed your hours, and the improvements you drove over time.
