Important Experience Requirement

To be considered for this position, candidates must currently be working as a Kitchen Shift Manager at another Chick-fil-A restaurant, or have previously served in that role. Because this is an experienced leadership position, prior Chick-fil-A Kitchen Shift Manager experience is required.

Position Overview

The Kitchen Shift Manager is responsible for leading Back of House operations during assigned shifts and ensuring that our team consistently delivers safe, high-quality food with speed, accuracy, cleanliness, and excellence.

This leader will coach and develop Team Members, execute Chick-fil-A systems, maintain food safety standards, and help create a positive and productive kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Lead and manage Back of House operations during assigned shifts
• Ensure food is prepared accurately, safely, and according to Chick-fil-A quality standards
• Maintain strong speed of service while protecting food quality and accuracy
• Ensure food safety remains a top priority at all times
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
• Identify operational needs and respond quickly to changing business demands

Team Leadership & Development

• Coach, support, and provide direction to Team Leaders and Team Members
• Set clear expectations and provide consistent accountability
• Train and develop Team Members on Chick-fil-A procedures and standards
• Recognize strong performance and address opportunities for improvement
• Build positive relationships with a diverse and multicultural team
• Lead with professionalism, urgency, and a servant-hearted mindset

Food Safety, Quality & Cleanliness

• Ensure proper food preparation and production procedures are followed
• Maintain compliance with Chick-fil-A food safety standards
• Monitor cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen
• Ensure preventative cleaning and maintenance schedules are followed
• Maintain strong attention to organization, equipment condition, and kitchen appearance

Inventory & Systems

• Support inventory management and product organization
• Maintain accurate transfer logs
• Assist with effective and efficient ordering
• Minimize waste and support proper food cost management
• Maintain a LEAN and efficient production environment
• Help ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained

As a Kitchen Shift Manager, You Will

• Demonstrate ownership and passion for the business
• Efficiently lead the shift and position Team Members for success

Required Qualifications

• Must currently serve, or have previously served, as a Kitchen Shift Manager at a Chick-fil-A restaurant
• Strong knowledge of Chick-fil-A Back of House operations
• Experience leading a kitchen team and running shifts
• Strong understanding of Chick-fil-A food safety and quality standards
• Ability to coach and hold Team Members accountable
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to remain calm and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
• Strong work ethic and growth mindset
• Ability to connect with and lead a diverse team

Applicants without previous Chick-fil-A Kitchen Shift Manager experience will not be considered for this position.
