Australian Venue Co. (AVC) is one of Australia's leading hospitality groups, operating more than 250 pubs, bars and restaurants across Australia and New Zealand. We are seeking passionate and experienced chefs to join our growing culinary teams at a number of our venues throughout Western Australia. There are multiple roles available across the following regions: Perth, Mandurah, Carramar, Brabham, Scarborough, Claremont, East Fremantle.

We currently have opportunities available for:

• Cook
• Commis Chef
• Demi Chef
• Chef de Partie
• Sous Chef
• Head Chef

These are full-time, permanent positions.

Salary

Annual salary ranging from $70,000 to $95,000 plus superannuation, depending on the position, qualifications and experience.

About the Role

As a Chef within Australian Venue Co., you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food while maintaining exceptional food safety and kitchen standards. Depending on the position, responsibilities may include:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting food to a consistently high standard.
• Assisting with menu planning and development.
• Supervising and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
• Managing kitchen operations during service.
• Monitoring food quality, consistency and portion control.
• Ordering, receiving and managing stock and kitchen supplies.
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
• Managing food costs, wastage and kitchen efficiencies.
• Working collaboratively with venue management to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Leadership responsibilities will increase in line with seniority of the role.

• Relevant experience in a commercial kitchen appropriate to the level of the position.
• Strong knowledge of modern food preparation techniques.
• The ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• A positive attitude and passion for hospitality.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should have one or more of the following:

• Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent); and/or
• Demonstrated commercial chef experience relevant to the position.

Experience requirements will vary depending on the level of the role.
