We take pride in our hospitality, but we know a great front-of-house relies entirely on a tight, organized, and respected back-of-house. We are looking for a dedicated leader to take ownership of our kitchen operations.
The Role:
This is a working manager position. You will not be spending much time in an office doing paperwork you will be leading by example from the line, ensuring ticket times are tight and food quality is flawless. Because we are a tight-knit team in a small town, maintaining operational consistency is everything. This role requires a flexible schedule and a hands-on commitment to covering unexpected shift gaps and line absences to protect the bar's regular hours of operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Line Leadership & Shift Coverage: Run the line during peak hours and actively step in to cover open or vacant shifts as needed to maintain kitchen stability.
- Flexible Scheduling: Maintain a flexible work schedule tailored to the operational needs of a high-volume bar environment.
- Staff & Accountability: Manage kitchen scheduling, enforce clear attendance and conduct policies fairly, and train a reliable back-of-house roster.
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee ordering, inventory management, food cost controls, and health department compliance.
- Culture Builder: Maintain a clean, professional, and low-drama kitchen environment where people show up and do their jobs well.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Lead Cook, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager in a high-volume restaurant or bar environment.
- Proven ability to manage people, hold a team accountable, and handle kitchen friction calmly.
- Open availability, a flexible schedule, and a strong commitment to team-first reliability.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and cost control.
